Panna cotta (Italian sweeten cream jellied)

This is a blog post on how to make Panna cotta (Italian sweeten cream jellied) dessert. It is lovely and easy to make dessert. This recipe does not require many skills to make. Any fruit/s in season or any type of compote or jam can be added to the Panna cotta sweeten jellied cream.

I use Dr Oetker gelatine sachet but by all means, use any other brand that is around. As a result, it is best when it serves chill from the fridge. It is possible to serve it with fresh fruits rather than simmer the fruits in sugar.

Panna cotta (Italian sweeten cream jellied) dessert

EQUIPMENT

  • Fridge
  • cooking pot
  • 4 ramekin pots

INGREDIENTS  

  • 300 mls double cream
  • 2 leaves gelatine or half a sachet (depending on brand)
  • 3 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 200 grams a chopped selection of seasonal fruits
  • 1 tbsp sugar for simmering with fruits
  • a few mint leaves for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS 

Make the cream

  • In a pot pour in the double cream, add the sugar, gelatine and vanilla essence. Bring the pot to a slow simmer till the gelatine is melted. Then pour the panna cotta mixture into 4 ramekin pots. Chill in the fridge till set for about 2 hours.

Serving

  • Prepare the seasonal fruits but peeling them and cutting them into bite-size. I am using blackberries and strawberries. Simmer in it in a pot with sugar. Serve it with the fully set cream. add some mint for garnish.
