Here is a blog post on another French Fait Main. sewing magazine. Fait main in English simply means homemade. After reading a few reviews about it online I now finally got hold of it.
It’s overall a great sewing magazine if one can get their hands on it. Believe me, I live in London just across the channel who would have thought it would be so difficult to get hold of this magazine ?!! I have tried searching online not easy all in French and plus postage was 9 euros just for one magazine. None of the usual online magazine shops based in the UK sell them. French bookstores I have yet to explore. eBay yes only back issues.
Only option is to go to France. On my last trip to Nice airport none at all, this time I had better luck. I don’t travel for work just only for pleasure. The magazine for January 2020 issue cost 6.20 euros for 38 patterns. It’s a stylish well laid out sewing magazine. Compare to other types like La mia boutique and Fibre Mood each have their own unique selling points which make them out from the rest of the crowds. These links are written by me in the past about them.
Fait main sewing magazine review
Fait main at the moment don’t have much presence on social media platforms like Instagram. In my personal opinion not so great if you are a blogger trying to build a more social media presence. Perhaps this will happen in the future. However, they do have a great website that showcases their other magazine besides sewing like Tricot.
Like most sewing magazines the patterns need to be traced out. Hence the price. In this issue, there are patterns for young children as well. Knitting pattern for a baby/ toddler. Definitely a more sewing pattern magazine than Coudre et which is a more sewing craft-based magazine. The magazine is laid out like Burda unlike La Maison Victor and Fibre mood you get fewer patterns but you get well-illustrated step by step instructions instead.
Thank you very much for reading and dropping by. This article is written in my own honest opinion.
